Youth. Education. Service.
We are dedicated to the activity center of the
National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc. Throughout previous decades the program has evolved into the current Youth, Education, and Service (Y.E.S) initiative.
Youth Component
Delta Delta Chapter is committed to sponsoring a volunteering of community activities that will enable and inspire the youth to attain high ethical, educational, moral, and social standards. Students receive life skills support, academic assistance, test-taking strategies, study skills, tutoring, cultural enrichment and socialization training.
The chapter is also committed to providing counseling and educational advice to female college students who are pursuing a degree in education.
All interested candidates must display good moral character and maintain at least a “C+” grade-point average.
XINOS
A guidance group for female youth in grades 9 through 12 .
A guidance group for male youth in grades 9 through 12 .
KOT is a college guidance group for females pursuing a degree in education.

NATIONAL PROJECT
NSPDK, Inc. Delta Delta Chapter donates annually to the Sickle Cell Anemia research at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee.
INTERNATIONAL PROJECT
Delta Delta Chapter donates annually to the Sorority’s ongoing strategic partnership with Africare to reach and support the people on the African Continent.
CHILDREN AND ADULT BENEFITS
Delta Delta Chapter’s local projects include providing snacks and supplies to an after-school tutorial program (HEARTS for Children), preparing and serving a Pre-Thanksgiving Dinner to senior citizens at the Lincoln Villa Senior Center, and providing supplies and other needed items to a local school.
HEALTH, HYPERTENSION, AND NUTRITION
Provides a channel through which children and adults learn preventive health measures and viable strategies for addressing a wide variety of health issues that confront society.
RETIRED SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM / SENIOR TEACHER PROGRAM (RSVP/STP)
RSVP/STP encourages:

Mentoring: members donate their time in the local public schools to support students' academic success.

Advising: provide professional support to teachers entering the administrative role of education.

Volunteering: members support H.E.A.R.T.S for Children and numerous local projects in Jacksonville, Florida to include, Pre-Thanksgiving Dinner at the Lincoln Villa Senior Center.
Education Component
SCHOLARSHIP
NSPDK, INC. awards a $6,000 scholarship to a male and a female graduating senior in each of the five regions. Delta Delta Chapter awards scholarships to graduating Xinos and Kudos.
TEACH-A-RAMA
Is designed to acquaint teachers, parents, students and the community with various aspects and issues in education. Teach-A-Rama may be presented in the form of an educational forum, workshops, seminars, lectures, courses, etc.
EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION
Specializes on the provisions of meaningful learning experiences for
Pre-School children that will improve their readiness for school and subsequent scholastic achievement.
LITERACY
The umbrella of Literacy includes academic skill centers that supplement classroom work by providing opportunities to enhance proficiency in such areas as Reading, Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, Technology and African American History.
COMMISSION ON CIVIL RIGHTS AND EDUCATION
Focuses on matters and issues involving education and the civil rights of children, youth, adults, teachers and professionals in education.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND LEADERSHIP TRAINING
Provides educational and leadership training to meet the goals of the Sorority, administrative roles of committee members and officers; to include all components of the Y.E.S. Program.
